He said he has also had a great deal of social contact with the appointee and his wife at social dinners at their home at 3025 N Street, N, W., where they presently reside. He described FORTAS as the "greatest lawyer who ever came down the pike." He said the appointee is very thorough and his attention to details is incredible. He remarked that FORTAS has an incredible ability to single out a clean-cut scheme from a mass of information. He said that in legal discussions with the appointee, the appointee "sharpens up the thinking of the other attorneys - and if he leaves the firm, it will be a great loss. stated that he considers the appointee °” to be a loyal American citizen and there is certainly no question concerning his moral character, integrity, personal habits, or associates. He added that the appointee enjoys a very good reputation, both personal and professional. In conclusion, he advised he would give the appointee his highest recommendation for a position of trust and confidence.
