Michigan, regarding the Detroit Flying Saucer Club.
The purpose of this letter is to set out for the information
of the Bureau, the activities of Detroit Flying Saucer Club, as
Free Press, advised that she had been attending meetings concerning
flying saucers, rockets to the moon, etc., which she felt could be M
subversive.On May 27 1954,Mrs.PEARsON and BUD/GOODMANDetroit
Free Press Editorial Writer advised that one GEoRGsXADAMSkI, had
of the remarks; such as "we are Americansbut"......and that we
should reduce our arms and would blow ourselves up with the H-Bomb,
because visitors from outer space were afraid we had started some-
thing that would get out of hand. Another lecturer in Detroit, was
TRUMANBETHURUM. The sponsors of these speake rs were HELEN REEVE,
LAURA MARXER,HENRY MADAY and RONALD COOK.According to pamphlets
furnished by GooDMAN, a "Flying Saucer Review Group"was to be
formed.This was headed by HENRrMADAy 36l W. Lewiston, Ferndale,
Michigan, who u ses the pen name, JAREDLyoN. He is editor, Bresser
Cross Index DirectoryDetroit. They advised that LAuRA/ARxER was
the Station WwJ-TV personality "MiDce in the "playschool"program.

On July 13 1954 GOODMAN advised that MADAY was bringing
to Detroit, someone who talked to people from Venus, Clarion, etc.,
who are more highly advanced than earth pe ople. They advocated the
Golden Rule as the only workable rule.A meeting was to be held on
July 15L95h. GOODMAN also furnished a letter from one LAWRENCE
GooDMAn felt such an organization could use the flying saucer scare
as political propaganda or from a psuedo-religious view. He said
they opposed the atomic bomb and warfare.

Miss LOUIsE/MQoNEy885 Stoepel,Detroit, and a clerk in
the Doubleday Bookstore Penobscott Bldg., advised she attended the
July 15,195 meeting of the flying saucer group.The purpose was
