The return address on the envelope listed the sender as Somerset State Hospital, Somerset, PA, 15ool, and the letter was postmarked March 21, 1990, from the Somerset State Hospital, Somerset, PA. 9q b7C Somerset State Hospital officials were contacted and confirmed that ]is currently a patient at. the hospital. Ihas been diagnosed as a chronic schizophrenic. has been treated at the Somerset State Hospital and the Fairview State Hospital continuously since 1983. Dr. m.D., attending physician, advised that due to medical history, is of striking out with hands and fists against staff members at the hospital. Staff members at the hospital added that, in their opinion, does not have the foresight, judgement or attention span to plan or carryout any plot to assault a public official.
