FRANCIS P. SALEMME, JAMES JBULGER, STEPHEN J. FLEMMI, GEORGE KAUFMAN, FRANCIS P. SALEMME, JR. ROBERT P. DELUCA, JAMES P. MARTORANO, DEFENDANTS (BoSton file number and Boston file number b6 - 2 The b7C - 2 indictment charged that the above mentioned individuals did b7E - 4 constitute an enterprise within the meaning of the federal Rico statute, Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 1961(4). The indictment charged the above mentioned persons were a group of individuals engaged in various criminal activities consisting of acts involving murder and extortion in violation of the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; extortion in violation of Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 1951; extortionate credit transactions in violation of Title 18, U.s. Code, Sections 893 and 894; illegal gambling in violation of Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 1955; acts of Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 1952; and acts involving witness tampering in violation of Title 18, U.s. Code, Section 151z. The indict-ment charged that JAMEs J. BULGER and STEPHEN J.
