Collier suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was Tamerlan Tsarnaev (deceased). Minutes after this incident, a black Mercedes was car jacked from Kendall Square in Cambridge, MA, and a chase ensued with police. The following morning at approximately 12:45 a.m., the chase led officers to a residential neighborhood at Dexter Street and Laurel Street where a shootout occurred between officers and the two subjects. b6 b7C Patrolman, Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA), Boston, Massachusetts, was wounded during the shootout.
