Dartmoith and because of this, should be. the subject of. an investigation by Naval Intelligence. It further stated that because the Subject appeared to, be friendly with that should be investigatod also. According to this article had Hely no basis of truth Was, unable to locate the.above-mentioned article nor.. was he able to.recall the Jewish publication in which,it. had.originally appeared. stated that the Subject at no time made any.s tatements concerning the fact that the Nasis were very decent people and thet he liked collaborationists..: In fact, there was nothing which. could be. considered subversive or un-American mentioned by the Subject He state apparently felt that the Subject in sone of his previous' writn. had indicated an anti-Semitic attitude, and for this reason, had deliberately gone out of his way to attempt to get the Subject to make statements which would indicate this anti-Semitism. It is to be noted that According to the discussions had between Subject. were concerned primsrily with creative writing ano were definitely non- political. Kost of the questions asked by the students were concerned with the source material of the books and articles written by the Subject. The Subject was described as being an ultra-modern type of writer who went to such an extrene in the use of certain words Lmanen aayn u? paydnngnd aq on penonne gou eann synog aay go nuen dae? military groups in this country and is considered by many critics to be. one of the foremost American writers at this time.
