Criminal Investigator, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BiA), Phoenix, advised that his agency learned that individuals affiliated with the captioned organization were active in Flagstaff, Arizona, on 7/2/72, b6 when 7.members of this Indian protest'organization were b7C promoting riot during local pow wow ceremonials. stated that DENNIS BANKS and RUSSELL MEANS are among the organizers of this AIm group at Flagstaff; that both individuals have been active in Aim in the Chicago, Illinois, area. He explained that Ail sa gathering of various Indian spiinter groups from Chicago and while the goals of the AIM group in Flagstaff are unknown at this time, it is known that~BAnks has been active in other areas of the country and has participated in the following demonstrations: On 7/2l/7l he participated in a disturbance at the Minneapolis Aguatennial Parade when AIM objected to the float from Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, which depicted an Indian head. He demanded that the float be removed from the parade; On 9/9/7l. BANks and others went to Marsha1 University High School in Minnesta and demanded to see a teacher because they objected to a text book she was using. When told she could not see them after class, they sat outside the classroon and beat a drum until'the teacher had to dismiss the class.
