(U) One of the factors under Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) 702 in assessing the reliability of
scientific or technical testimony offered by an expert is whether the theory or technique has been
subjected to peer review and publication. A peer review conducted by another individual in the.
same field-in this case another CAST asset-contributes towards the reliability of the CAST
report. CAST assets must have all trial reports peer reviewed by another certified CAST asset
