Details: Pursuant to DIog Section 2.4, terrorism includes the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, to further political or social objectives. In this case, the subject committed an unlawful act in potential violation of the following federal statutes: - 18 U.S.C 115(a)(2): Influencing, impeding, or retaliating against a federal official by injuring a family member 26 U.S.C 5861: Prohibited acts 18 U.S.c 879: Threat against former presidents and certain other persons These potential violations of federal law all involve the use of force and violence (utilizing Dpms (Panther Arms) AR-style .556 rifle, serial number FH136483) to coerce the United States government and a civilian population to potentially further a political objective. Given the. circumstances, it is reasonable to believe the potential political objective was to assassinate the former President of the United States and current candidate for President. The subject chose to target the Former PoTus and nominee for President at a scheduled campaign event, therefore attempting to intimidate the civilian population and attempting upcoming election. Based on the information set forth within this case opening, it is. requested that a case be opened and assigned to SAs b6 -1 and for further investigation, such as the b7C -1 b7E -1 subject's motivation and to identify if there were any co-conspirators.
