Thank you for your recent telephone invitation for
Director Webster to appear before a luncheon meeting of your
Editorial Board. Unfortunately, due to the very serious national
events involving the FBI over the past few weeks, The Director's
schedule has become overly crowded with priority matters making
the scheduling of a meeting before your board improbable in the
near future.
As much as I would like to be able to commit the
Director to such a meeting, I must ask your understanding of the
