SUBJECT : FILM ENTITLEDXCHICAGO 7" BASED ON FICTIONAL BOOK ENTITLED "THE SEVEN FILE" BOTH WRITTEN BY WILLIAM P. MC GIVERN BACKGROUND: As previously noted, Euan'Lloyd Productions, Ltd., an English. motion picture organization, has for some time planned a motion picture based or a fictional story concerning a kidnaping case entitled "The Seven File," which was written by William P. McGivern in the mid 1950's. The screen play has also been written by McGivern and is closely based on the book with the only basic change being the locale of the story being moved from New York to Chicago. We have been. following developments with respect to this matter for a number of years.. Briefly, the story involves the kidnaping for ransom of an infant daughter of a wealthy couple by two ex-convicts, a confidence man and his girlfriend.. The kidnapers' plans are disrupted by the child's nurse whom they are also forced to kidnap. The infant's grandfather calls the FBI into the case despite the kid- napers' admonition not to do so. The FBI's investigation is directed by an Inspector and reflects very favorably and accurately on Bureau operations. The point is made throughout the story that the safe return of the baby and nurse is the FBI's primary interest. At the hideout where the kidnap victim is being held, UNRECURAED CCPY TULED the brother of one of the kidnapers innocently stumbles on the scene and is held. At the climax of the story, the kidnapers have a falling out, the con man and his girlfriend are killed by the convict, who is in turn killed by his brother. The child and nurse are returned safely. CURRENT DEVELOPMENT: According to our Los Angeles Office, an item appeared in the. Brendon Boone are scheduled to appear in this film.
