Cop Car Chase Godfather of Soul James Brown was recently indicted in Aiken, Character: S.C., in connection with a police or chase that started in Georgia and Classification: crossed into South Carolina. Submitting Office: Brown, 55, was charged with two counts of assault and battery with intent to kill and one count of Indexing: failure to stop for a police car. He was charged earlier in Georgia over the incident. Police said Brown entered a seminar in Augusta carrying a gun and then led police on the chase (Jer, Oct. 10). Brown allegedly tried to run over two officers who were set- ting up a roadblock. The officers reportedly shot out Brown's front tires, but he kept driving.. A trial has been set for Decem- ber, Brown was on a European concert tour at press time.
