On the reverse side of this stationery. under the heading of *Friends of
Italian Democracy" was a list of names which included the name of the subject.
The same informant on Septenber 4, l947, furnished a booklet entitled *Marual
on Peace Education" issued by the Junior Section, International Workers Order,
80 5th Avenue, New Iork City. which carried
9 poem entitled "The Black
Soldier" which was written by the subject.(u

New Jersey, carried an article entitled *Are You a Communist" written by.
the subject in which he explains that racial equality has succeeded in Communist.

received invitations to attend the Congress of Intellectuals For Peace to
be held in Warsaw, Poland, August 25 to 28, l948. Among the list of persons.

the National Council of Arts, Science and Professions held at Ridgely Hall,
Baltimore, Maryland, Kay 2, ls4s. She furnished a' leaflet vhich set forth

Under this caption, it wss stated that fifty outstamding writers, in a statement.
released by the Literatnre Division of the Independent Citisens Committee of
the Arts, Science and Professions, had signed a pledge in support of strikes
by organized labor. Included in the list wes the name of the sabject.(u).
