Special Agent observed tho picketing and noted that the inscrip... tions on some of the placards sere: "End Departasnt of Justice Attacks On Minorities"; "Ton Clark, Doa't Tread Oa Me". Under tais inscription was a large sketch of the Statue of Liberty; Bittelman": *Stop Deportation of Jones, Negro Woman Leader"; "Stop Deportation of Alarander Bittelman, Now Iork Jewish. Loader" ; "Remove Poll Tax Attorney Tom Clark";. *Stop Minority Persecution of Jonesand Bittelman". It was noted that at th. bottom of each of the placards was. the statement that picketing was sponsored by the New Iork State Comuitte. From time to tiae dring the period of the picket the members chanted various slogans. Some of the slogans recalled were: "Let's get rid of Clark and Hoover--Free JONES & BITTEIMAN".. "Tom Clark, you can't deport Democragy". "Mr. TRuAn, Wall Street Middlemaa" At each end of the block members of the Party passed out leaflets issned by the New York State Coamittee of the Communiat Party. ?. Copies of two of these leaflets were obtainsd. One called for an inmediate immediate dississal of the charges against CLAUDIA JONES and ALEANDER HITreimAn.
