Gainesville, Florida, where he is employed .as the After being advised of the. identity of the interviewing Agent and the nature of the interview, he provided the following information:. The First Union National Bank of Florida, 35o5 Southwest. Archer Road, Gainesville, Florida, is an FDic insured institution bearing FDIc certificate #24398-1, issued on May 6, 1987. An audit conducted of the bank tellers' drawers revealed an initial loss to the bank of b7E At approximately ll:30 a.m. he was walking across the lobby to answer the telephone at one of the desks when he heard an unknown individual shout, "This is a robbery! Everybody put your hands up. Don't move". He turned around, put his hands up, and observed a white male individual, approximately 6'l", .slender build, 160 to 170 pounds, wearing dark striped pants, no shirt, and carrying a black small caliber automatic pistol, moved toward the teller counter and jump over it to the other side. He began yelling for the tellers to open up their cash drawers and get their money. As he moved up and down the teller line he asked if there were any dye packs and stated, "There better not be any dye packs in here". This individual then tried to jump back over the teller counters and heard a "chunk" noise and it appeared as if the b6 individual hit his knee on the counter as he was trying to jump b7C back over it. when he cleared the counter he then ran out the bank through the front doors.. He followed the individual out of the bank and observed. Store. When the individual was approximately thirty yards from the bank, the dye pack exploded inside his bag and he observed red smoke coming out of the bag until the individual reached the Dollar Investigation on .08/27/90 at Gainesyille, Florida File # 91A-JK-3426 SA lez Date dictated 09/06/90 b6 by b7C This document contains neither recommendations nor conelusions of the FBI.
