BACKGROUND
1950, advising you with respect to Senator lcCarthy's testimony before the Senate
Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the morning of the l3th. You will recall that .
in Senator lCarthy's testimony he identified his current Case No. 3 as Dr. Esther
Caukin Brunauer, who, as you will recall, was identified as nCase No. 47" in his
previous testimony before the Senate as published in the Congressional Recard of
February 20, l950. There is attached a copy of the sumnary memorandum prepared
on Dr. Estier Caukin Brunauer identifying her as "Case No. 47," which was submitted

active duty, and a scientist on several top secret projects."
