The sABT observed that each of the items appeared to be "non-sparking," a characteristic necessary to manufacture and handle explosive material. After discovering the materials, agents withdrew from the residence and secured the area. The building was cleared of all residents and placed under surveillance. Bomb technicians and ERT 2005. Apartment was cleared by SABTs at 12:01 AM on October 3, 2005, and ERT began processinq the scene. Bomb technicians initiated the search of at 12:10 AM, followed by ERT at 12:40 AM. Searches of both apartments concluded at. 3:08 AM on October 3, 2005. SABTs found significant varieties of precursors along with approximately 0.4 pounds of TATp explosives at Hinrichs' residence (the TAtp explosives were later destroyed at a local range). 6
