These activities include regular meetings, educational talks and public lectures/discussions, tables, rallies, and public demonstrations. The public demonstrations by the Austin Iso have mixing with other extremist groups. Several members of the Iso. were arrested for disrupting a speech by using air horns and. shouting down the speaker.. This was done during the speech given. by lin Aoril of 2005: one of these protestors was. b6 b7C At another public event, members of the Iso used. profanity, vulgar gestures, and attempted to shout down. b6 during a speech' at the University of Texas at Austin, in b7C May of 2005. One member,. was arrested. The Iso also participated in a protest of a Haliburton. meeting in Houston, Texas in May of 2oos, along with Anti-Racist Action (ARA). Several police officers were assaulted, bottles were thrown, and 15 protestors were arrested. At a Ku Klux Klan rally in Tomball, Texas, in June of 2o05, Iso members showed up dressed in black clothing, wearing knit hats with handkerchiefs covering their faces. They arrived with 30-50 University of Texas students and tried to incite the crowd into rushing the. building and disrupting the meeting.. On 05/01-05/05/2006, Austin wil1 be hosting the world. Congress on Information Technology (wcit 2006). This global event occurs at a different location every two years, and. attracts world leaders in business, government and academia. Keynote speakers in the past included Margaret Thatcher, Former. Prime Minister of the UK; John Howard, Prime Minister of. Australia; Bill clinton, Former President of the United States of America; Bill Gates, President of Microsoft; and Michael Dell, Chairman of the Board, Dell Inc.. 2
