Box 999 RICLAND, WASHINGTON 7/15-16/79 This investigation was instituted upon receipt of. a letter on 8/16/79 from Depart- b6 ment of Energy, Richland, Washington,. indicating a probable b7C theft of Government property valued at. b7E The theft occurred between 7/15-16/79, from a DOE Owned boat moored at a dock at 2700 West Commander Way,. Seattle, Washington. The theft was reported to the U. S. of which case #79-270-335 was assigned. Richland Operations Office of D0e was notified on 7/16/79 and in turn notified. this office on 8/16/79. The D0e has never determined whether the items were positively stolen, nor are any suspects iden- tified. All items have been entered into Ncic by the Seattle FBr. On 10/9/79, u. S. Coast Guard, 2700 w. Commander Way, Seattle, advised that One of the Doe people on the boat had told him about the. missing equipment and he in turn contacted his supervisor the day after the weekend of the theft.. |advised he was b6 sure the stuff had been "ripped off,. # but there is no security b7C available at the Coast Guard docking area and he had tried to He also had offered storage for their containers, but the boat was afforded no particular attention by the Coast Guard Staff.
