Responsibility We are assessing the feasibility of conducting an investigation into the disclosure of information protected by Rule grand jury investigation involving officials of the Government of the District of Columbia, including Mayor Marion Barry. This information was contained in a New York Times article which appeared on August 29, l984, and other articles in both the Washington Post and the Washington Times. The New York Times article attributed the disclosure to "Federal law-enforcement officials." The feasibility of such an inquiry hinges, in part, on the number of people with access to the information. It appears that such access was limited to personnel of the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia and to such. agents as may have been assigned to the investigation.
