FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIG (1) 4/6/64 Date Mr.CARNEN TILELLI, b6 N,J., was interviewed at nts gymnasium, Passyunk and. b7C Moore Streets, Philadelphia. Tilelll adyised that he is a boxer fighting under chamoion of his class. He said he is no longer managed by but has bought his own contract and now b6 handles his own affairs. He said that his personal affairs. tb7C are handled by Tilell stated that he considers hlmself more popular among the colored element in Philadelphia than most colored or white. He said he has met ClAy on one or tto occaslons and outside of newspaper publieity knows very Ilctle about him. He said that crAy does not spend much time in Philadelphia, being owned by businessmen in Louisvllle, Ky. He said he has heard no wnfavorable comments about CLAy; however, it is common knowledge that CLAy's fight with LisroN left many unanswered questions. He sald that nelther he nor his staff have any informatlon either favorabie or unfavorable concerning ClAy's standing in this city and could see no reason why anyone would care to harm hin on threaten him. He said that such a threat could come from any of millions or fans be. He said it was his opinion that Liston was not in condition to flght, being overweight and sluggish at the time he fought ClAy. He said that it Is also posslble that a bet and this could include milllons of people. He sald he could furnish no informatlon whatsoever which would possibly reflect a suspect in the threats on ClAy's life..
