AL 123-122 DETAIIS: AT BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK Miss MARJORIE HEBBAFI, Binghamton Central High School, advised. that the applicent entered this schcol from the West Junior High School in January of 1940. According to the records, he was graduated in June of 1943, ranking 35th out of 180 students. Ihe records:contain no information reflecting uoon the applicrnt's character, loyalty or reputation. Miss HEnran) said thet she was personally acquainted with the. School. She said that he was well regarded by both instructors and by his classmates. She said that she knew of nothing unfavorable regarding his character, loyalty or reputati.on.. RICHARD SCHUSTER, Guidance Counselor, Binghamton Central. High Scrool, advised that he was. acquainted with the applicant and his hrother, ROBeRr, who is presently enployed by the United Press in iashington, D.C. He said that the applicant was a member.of the honor society, was.. active in dramatics, speaking, and writing during attendance at this sehool, and was a very talented young man. SchusreR said that he had a very nice personality and he had never observed anything unfavorable regarding the of his knowledge of the applicant, ne would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him.for erployment with the Federal government.. E. RAY MC CLOSKEy, Promotion and Public Relations, WNBF, advised that there were no records in the whBF files which would verify the applicant's employment as a part-tine actor and writer diring the period 1935 to 194l. He also said that there was presently no one associated with the station who would be familiar with the applicant. liC Cl,oskey said that it was probable that the applicant was associated with a talent show put on by the Binghamton School System. He said that wNBr provides time to the Binghamton School System each week, which is used up by the students at the schools.. He also said that it was possible that the applicant was employed by an announcer rather than by the stetion itself..
