As you may know, the pro-homosexual organization, Acr-up, has become very active in civil disobedience and, in some instances,. even criminal activity. Members of this organization have demonstrated that they will carry out their threats on behalf of their particular cause. It is for this reason I am concerned by the statement of one of AcT-up's most influential leaders, Michael Petrelis. He is quoted in the article as supporting political assassination of two members of Congress, Representative Bill Dannemeyer of California and Senator Jesse Helms of North Carolina. While this threat may be hollow, given the history of Acr-up,. I believe it should be taken seriously. Bill Dannemeyer is a. close friend and I know that he has received previous threats against his life. Because of these threats he has, at his own. expense, provided additional protection for himself and his family.
