On March 25, 1977, Chesimard was convicted by a jury in the State of
New Jersey for Felony Murder in the 1973 execution-style murder of New
Jersey Trooper Werner Foerster, as well as Atrocious Assault and Battery,
Assault and Battery of a Police Officer, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon,
Assault with intent to Kill, Illegal Possession of a Weapon, and Armed
Robbery. She was sentenced to life in prison for murder plus 26-33 years
for the other crimes.

assailants.
