BISHOP While talking to the Attorney General on another matter, I mentioned to him that I was appalled the other day when I received word that the Defense Department was contemplating appointing to a very sensitive advisory board in the Defense Department. I said when I learned that I wrote a letter to the Secretary of Defense advising him of the background or and advised him of the attack on the Bureau and me and the Attorney General and I sent a copy to John Ehrlichman. Attorney General said he would talk to Secretary Laird. I said I think it The would be most unfortunate to have him annointed where security is involved since he breached it when he was The Attorney General said he would talk to Secretary of Defense Laird. The Attorney General said that on. he had talked to (phonetic) and they will eliminate him.
