Smith, pilot of Air Force 7346, T-11 on # round robin flight from Fresno Air Terminal, California to Los Angeles and return, reported that he was circled by a jet propelled blimp while over Sandberg Pass, about 40 miles south of Bakersfield, California at 2050 P, 28 February 1949, The speed of the object was estimeted et 500 MPH, flying et an altitude of nine thousand feet.
