Qn the afternoon of 15 October 1948 at approximtely 1705 hours Maj
Robert ©. Drum stated that he had observed a strangely shaped glistening
object in the north sector of the aky which was moving in a northeasterly
direction at an estimated altitude of 10,000 ft, A stratus layer of clouds
was situated above the object at an Spproximate altitude of 14,000 feet.
The dise or disce were moving below this layer of cloude in that it was noted
that on two occasions that the bighest formation of cl was at a greater
altitude than the object observed and that the lower ci md formation blocked
the vision of the observer tms placing the object betwoen the two cloud
formations or levels, Because of this lower broken cumius clouds at
& Very low altitude wnich was coving in s southwesterly direction, tae Major
could not uscertain whether he aaw the sane dise four different times or
four different discs. Over a period of 10 mimites the disc or disce were
sighted four times. The longest period of observation was estimate? ss 10
seconds. The object or object(s) appeared bright silver in color and circular
or elliptical in shape. No vacor or exhaust was present and no flame or lights
