UMWEXPLAINED FLYING DISCS
7 July 1947
5S. This agent interviewed W. A. Lissy and D. ". Ellis, both Patrolman,
Portland City Police Department and both possess private pilots licenses.
Both officers advised that upon hearing the radio alert, they saw three flat
round disos, having a white color to them. These discs were, according to
these officers, flying at a terrific speed in a Southerly direction away from
Portland, They desoribed them as flying ina straight line formation, the
last disc fluttering very rapidly in a side way arc. They further advised
the disos were equally spaced and kept in formation. Soth officers estimated
the disos altitude at 40,000 feet. They saw no evidence of any motivating
powers and vapor trails or smoke trails. Soth officers stated these discos
were traveling so fast, they were out of sight before any detailed observa-
tion could be made, or any sound could be heard.
AGENT*S NOTE: All informants mentioned herein are know to this agent as
very dependable and trustworthy officers, not being afflicted with halluoi~
nationse The weather in the Portland area at this time was clear with little
or no cloud formations being visable from the ground. Ground temperature at
this time was 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
