: XN FEOERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION 6/5/81 Gate of transcription, «—::, Atlanta, Georgia, Police Department, was interviewed at the Chattahoochee River and James Jackson Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia. He advised that at approximately 3:00 A.M., on May 22, 1981, he was in the grassy area on the banks of the Chattahoochee at James Jackson Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia, approximately 15 to 20 yards in ‘front of the bridge. He related that he heard a huge object enter the water accompanied by a loud splash. He indicated that he shined his flashlight on the spot where he believed the object to have entered the water and observed huge ripples of water which made their way to the shoreline where he was a standing. then stated that he observed headlights £Ie on the bri him and saw a vehicle which appeared to have just started moving slowly toward ep cnmn oJ a fellow j ecruit who was on the bridge Jev dling. cad stated that he radioed to asking him if he c ee a vehicle moving toward him. replied that he had.the vehicle in sight. — u indicatéd that in addition to having visual ith vehicles.going over the bridge, he was also able to hear them as a metal strip across the bridge made a noise as vehicles passed over. He stated that before the vehicle in question had crossed over the bridge, there had been no other vehicles crossing the bridge for at least ten minutes.
