Recruit, Atlanta Police Nepartment
(APD), was contacted at the office of the Special Task Force,
advised of the identities of the interfiewing Agents and
provided the following information: _
He was on duty on the evening/morning of May 21-
22, 1981 at the bridge where Georgia 280 crosses the Chattahoochee
River. He was located on the west side of the south end
of the bridge where he had a clear view of the road all
north to the traffic light at the top of a hill.

° e road, because the bridge's guard rail blocked a small
portion of the road at the north end of the bridge.
At approzimatel :00 a.m., he received a radio
call from Recruit who was on the other side
of the bridge, ask ere was a car stopped on the
i as he had just heard a large splash. At that time,
li «==: he looked up, saw a white station wagon moving
slow towards him on bridge at approximately one to
two miles per hour. on stated that the vehicle, a white f
1969-1970 Chevrolet s wagon, with luggage rack, drove 9 c
past him into a liquor store parking lot, located on the
west side of Georgia 280 just south of the bridge. The
vehicle turned around in the liquor store ing lot and
proceeded back north across the bridge. iis stated he
saw the vehicle at all times from the time he saw it on
the bridge, through its turning around at the liquor store
parking lot and ck north across the bridge,

280 and followe e vehicle north across the bridge.
stated he did not see hts or hear the car before
he gotthe call from nor did he he sound
of car doors or the a nm the river. stated
that when he first saw the station wagon, was on the
bridge crossing the rivers; however, it was located towards
the far end of the bridge.
