A review of records and old carpet swatches for the pertinent period several years ago determined that the only carpeting which seemed to have enough similarity to possibly be identical with subject's carpet was an E&B carpet with a trade name of "Pageantry." This carpet was manufactured by E&B only during the period 3/20/69 to 1/4/72. It was made of 100% Wellman nylon yarn consisting of 57% round nylon and 43% trilobal nylon. However, E&B's records show it to be Wellman type 151B nylon, rather than 181B nylon. The swatch enclosed for the Laboratory is the "Pateantry" trade name and is further identified as No. 131 and has a color name of "Winter Moss" which appears very similar or identical with subject's carpet. The Laboratory is requested to compare the "Pageantry” carpet with Williams carpet in an effort to determine whether they could be identical as to type of nylon, fiber, etc. \ Advise | Atlanta and Dallas results of examination. or the furth information of the Atlanta Division, ( Evans and Black Carpets, Dalton, fie eorgia, would have access to records of dye standards used by E&B during the early 1970's. If the Laboratory determines the Pageantry Carpet is identical to Williams carpet, Dallas can forward to Atlanta a list of several hundred retailers who handled carpet in the Southeast region for E&B as of 1975.
