Tesking: Give an accounting of the events which happened to the departing Methodist Minister at the Methodist Parsonage In Midway, Texas between the hours of midnight and dawn on the specific date In question; estimated between June and September of 1968. Background: Sometime during the approximate period of June to September, 1968, In the Methodist Parsonage on the edge of Midway, Texas, | was the Methodist minister, and wasin the process of moving to another church. | was working alone late In the morning, finishing packing, when | decided to fie down on the {loor and take a nap until morning, when { would finish putting the boxes into the car and would leave the house for the last time. 1 lay down on top of ablanket on the floor of theliving room, and had Just closed my eyes when I heard ahigh-pitched “vibrato” sound coming from high In the alr behind the parsonage. The area behind the parsonage Is completely open country; flelds and woods. It 1s bound In by fence rows, and there are no pathways or roads through It. The front of the house faces the major highway through town, and Is approximate 1/4 mile from the road. There was no traffic on the road that night, asituation which had become usual since the new freeway had bypassed the town. To the right of the housels about 1/4 mile of open fleld between the parsonage and the next door neighbor's home, and to the left of the house Ils a small yard and the home of an elderly couple. | noticed that the sound was coming closer to the house, and that [t seemed to be situated directly behind and over the house. | decided to Investigate, and realized that ! could not move, and could not open my eyes. | knew that | was wide awake. As | listened, the sound settled directly behind the house, and the tall grass could be heard as It crumpled below whatever had Just sat down on It. The high-pitched sound slowly wound down and finally stopped. Shortly thereafter, the sound of people wading through the grass came around the house. It sounded like at least three people. | struggled te open my eyes, but found It to be Impossible. | could not tell whether this was from fear or because of some other reason. Two of the “people” sounds came to the front window. | remember now that | thought that the proof they had been there would bein the back yard, and that | must Jook In the back yard the next day. The next thing! can remember was driving out the driveway the next morning, everything already packed In the car. | do not remember anything In between. At the time, i did not remember the event of the night before. From then until recently, ! have not been able to leave the house at any time, for any reason, without the vague feeling that | have forgotten something. About ‘¢ six months before this writing, my wife and | were leaving the house, and | was double checking everything, as! have gotten Into the compulsive practice of doing, when 1 thought to myself, “ This Is crazy. Why don’t! check to see if the back yard Is there, tool” Having thought this, the entire memory of that night many years before came back to mein asudden "blast". | fInally knew what It was | had forgotten. Over the next week or so, the memory of the Incident continued to bother me, but! {Inally decided that whatever happened happened, and that there was nothing | could do about It, now. I finally dismissed the Incident, and although ! have not forgotten It, have simply considered It to be “one of those things”. | still cannot remember what happened between the night and the morning, and am not bothered by it. On 23 Mar, 87,1 worked asite In which It is supposed that the same incident has happened to several other people. The last item In that session was when Ed asked, "Do these people know that It happened?” All ofa sudden, | felt an urgency to know just what did happen between night and morning, and am submitting this “tasking” to see If the events of that night can be determined.
