Attention 1s respectfully directed to los Angeles letter to the Buresu dated July 10, 1943, and to the r enclored therewith made by Special Agen Los Angeles, Gated July 10, 1943. This report contains information relative to the decision of the Department which advised the office of the United States Attorney at Los Angeles that no Presicential warrant would be authorised for subject's apprehension as a dangerous alien enemy at this tine. Although not stated in the sbove report, ans _ Of sssistant United States Attorney DI GIROLAMO*s office read the Department's communication relative thereto, to the Agent uho re~ ported the above matter. This letter contained no reference to any reason the Departzent might have had for not authorizing the issuance of a Presidential warrant for subject's apprehension. As atated in my letter dated July 10, 1943, the activities of the subject are being followed in connection with the investiga— tion of the case entitled Qi, and instant case is being carried in a closed status.
