On March 31, 1946, BERLAU departed aboard the Union 7acific
"Challenger" for New York City. Prior to departure she roved out of the VIPPTEL
residence and shipped all of her belongings to her New York address, to wit,
_ 2184 Bast 57th Street. These shipments included one-half dozen boxes of photo-
graphic laboratory equipment.’ Her effects reflect that she has done extensive
photographic copying of German language poems, etc. (no doubt the work of BERT
BRECHT) and has compiled these in booklet form. It will be recailed that BEPLAU
reportedly was preparing these booklets for dissemination in Gernany after the
culmination of the European war. At the time of moving fron the VITPTEL home,
BERLAU also transferred various boxes and files to the residence cf 32?7 >PECET.
