Military authoritie sadvised. BPP is a black extremist group. ~~ Newspaper articles have told of agitation by black troops at several United States military bases includiny Camp Lejeune, a Marine Corps installation in North Carolina. We previously developed data indicating BPP members from New York City and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, intended to travel ’ to Fort Dix, New Jersey, to deal with a problem (not further explained) that exists there. Military authorities at Fort Dix, aU. S, Army base, were alerted. Through a sensitive San Francisco source: wm: ‘we have received information that "something was going to brea out soon" at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, The meaning of this data is not known. It could mean additional agitational activity is planned at that installation. This is exemplified by ti issue of the BPP newspaper which states on its first pase a the GI's't and "Our Fight is not in Vietnam." The newspaper carries several articles which are antidraft, anti-Vietnam war and anti- involvement by blacks in United States Military Service.
