On July 10, 1970, QM reported that the purpose of
HEWETT's trip to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was to inspect
the operation of the NCCF office there. '

among BPP members, it was noted that when HEWETT was in Winston-
Salem it was for some type of inspection, possibly concerning
the recent ouster of some of <i former BPP leaders in Winston-
Salem. HEWETT apparently made the comment that ily ¢. NEWION
is to be out on bond within two weeks and is to visit each BPP

there were approximately seventeen (17) individuals selling BPP
newspapers, mostly in downtown Winston-Salem and at the Northside
Shopping Center. LARRY LITTLE, DAVID CATO, BOBBY\STOVER and ED
MCQUEEN were all salling papers at the Northside Shopping Center.
With them was snes FORD, a prior member who is apparently back
from some type restriction. It was also noted that McMillan'‘s
Minute Market and a store on Liberty Street called something like
