None. It is noted, however, that the BPP Chapter
held an open house at their Patterson Headquarters on
10/24/71, where LARRY LITTLE spoke before the small number
of guests that showed up. The open house was held in an
effort to gain support from the local community. No formal
Speeches, however, were made by BPP members during October,
1971.
ARRESTS AND CONVICTIONS
None.
FACTIONALISM
During August, 1971, no information was received
other than that a Winston-Salem, N. C., group continues to
follow HUEY P. NEWTON.
A Detroit source had advised that the BPP Cleaver
Faction underground has moved to an undiscovered North
Carolina location. Contacts with extremist sources have not
substantiated this allegation.
PART IL
The following is a summary of BPP activities in
the Charlotte Division:
The Free Breakfast for Children Program which
began on 9/6/71, at BPP Headquarters, 1333 North Patterson
Avenue, continues to feed approximately eight (8) to ten (10)
children each day. This program is headed by MARY MC DONALD
