They were also still working cut of their old center, at 1378 Wilson Street, and were planning on opening a branch in High Point, North Carolina. As yet, they had no telephone in Winston-Salem. said that the BPP sympathizers in North Carolina were taking advantage’ of a situation created when the "Pigs" came on a campus of an unnamed college and "beat-up" some Black students. He said the Black students were boycottin all the schools in Winston-Salem and some of them were becoming involved in a Revolutionary Students Movement and were attending political education classes.
