APPENDIX im "The New York Tiwcs" city edition, Tuesday, April 20, 1965, page 27, reported that a new party of “revolutionary sovizbisn" was formally founveco ca April t4, 1965, under the name of the PLP vhicn ha- been know as the Progressive Labor Movement. According to the article, “The Progrz=sive Laber Movement was founded in 1962 by Miltca Rosen and Mortimer Scheer atter they were expelled from the Communist Party of the Uniced States for asscrtedly follosing tne Chinese Communist line." ~ A source advisec on June 3. 1968, that the PLP held its Second National Cenveation in New York City. May 31 to Tune 2, 1368. at shich time the PLP regssssrted its objecrive of the estaolishmeot of u militant working ciass movement based on Marxism-Leninism This is to be accomplishec through the Party's over-all revolutionary strategy of raising the corscicusness of the praple and helping to provide ideological leacership in the working class struggje for state power, The source also advised that at the Second Nationa! Conven- tion Milton Rosen vas unanimously re-elected National Chairman of the PLP and Levi Laub. Fred fterone, Jared Israsl, William Eptoa, Jacob Rosen, Jeffrey Gorcos and Walter Linder were Elected as the National Comittee to lead the PLP until the next convention... The PLP publishes "Progressive Labor", a bi-monthly magazine; “World Revoluticna", a quarterly periecical; and "Challenge- Desifio", a monthly newspaier. The April, 1969, issue of "Cha!leng*-Desafio" sets forth that "Challenge is d2dicat-d to the peopie's fiagnt for a new way of life--where the vorking men and women costret wieir own homes and factories; where they themselves make up the ¢aliré governmeat on every level and control tne schools, courts, potice and all insti- tutions which are now used to control them," Source advised on May 8, 1969, that the PLP utilizes an addirss of General Fost Office Box 808, Brooklyn.
