on that morning that on the previous
wee aturday evening, May 3, 1969, a group of Negroes including
three.or four females and about six or seven males
positioned themselves on the sidewalk near the corner of
Oaklawn Avenue and Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte, North
Carolina. According to he Negro males seated then-
selves on all three corne the intersection and were
carrying shoulder pons or machetes. —

According to re these individuals
were not wearing uniforms of any type but were believed to
be members of a group of individuals who were attempting
to affiliate nationally with the Black Panther Party (BPP).
