afternoon, June 22, 1969, beginning at anrroximately 3:09 ”
P.M. The rally started with 18 Negroes, four of them [emales,.
all dressed in Black Panther reqalia and marching to the
sreaker's stand in column of twos. As these Neqroes marched
to the sreaker's stand they counted cadence, shouted "Power
to the Peorle", reriodically giving the Black Power salute. ..,
stated that BENJAMIN CHAVIS acted as MC during
the rally and introduced the sreakers. One sneaker was -
VERONICA FIAGANS , a member of the Afro American Unity Organization,
who svoke for avrreximately four minutes on the theme of -olice
brutality. JAG. /OVINGTON was then introduced as an :
individual who hac recently been released from Federal custody
and could speak with authority on nolice brutality. Thereafter,
JOH“ 7.UNSFORD was introduced as rerresentative of the
Studénts for a Democratic Society (SDS) and he also snoke
concerning nolice brutality, and the surmort of the SPS for
the Nearo and any other minority race which wa being victimized hy
the rolice and the canitalistic society in vhich the neste in
the United States are rresently livind. ¥
Following JOHN LUNSFORD‘s speech GAL LUNSFORD was
intromuced as a rerresentative of the SDS and she sroke
concerning women's liberation. WORTH KZTSON was introduced as
a member of the SDS an? gave a sreech dewanding immediate
withdrawal “f£ a1} United States trours in Vietnam, abolishment
of the Selective Service System, an@ surnrort of the Black
Brothers in Furtherance of the Workers Revolution. Y
It is noted that on June 6, 1969, in United States
District Court for the Western District of North Carolina at
Charlotte, North Carolina, Civil Action Number 2499 was filed
hy GEORGE S. DALY, JR., attorney for the viaintiffs, which is
a compjaint and motion for temrorary restrai ing order and
