It is Moore's opinion that Luna, the investigator for the Klan, obviously talked with Hall and Cash and others who were told of the pressure being put on by the FBI. Luna obviously got in touch with Shelton concerning this and, in turn, this information was given to Posey, the investigator for the State of Alabama (Alabama Highway Patrol). It appears this may be the basis for the procedure followed by the Alabama Highway Patrol in trying to jump the gun and pick up these persons with the hope that they might have gotten a confession.
