The church was bombed on) Sept, 15, 1963. The four girls were among hundreds attend-| ing Sunday School when the blast ripped through the struc- ture. { In its statement, the FBI said, “this investigation was prejudiced by premature ar- rests made by the Alabama Highway Patrol. Consequent- ly it has not yet been possible to obtain evidence or confes- sions to assure successful prosecution.” State Troopers arrested three ‘men shortly after Gov, George Wallace announced _ evidence| had been found that would solve, ithe series of bombings in Bir- ‘mingham.
