BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA /) ‘ . ¢- BOMBING MATTERS A xi There is attached a self-explanatory letter to the President concerning our investigation of the Sixteenth Street Baptist ‘Church bombing and other incidents in the Birmingham area, +Y \ NE :,, In our investigation of the church bombing and related \ incidents in the Birmingham area, we have practically torn a Birmingham apart and have interviewed thousands of persons. We t have seriously disrupted Klan activities by our pressure and ~ interviews so that these organizations have lost members and kK support. We have harassed the principal suspects in this case by Nv every possible means in an attempt to bring about a solution. We 4 have made extensive use of the polygraph, surveillances, microphone a° a & a] (7 co} o Q surveillances and technical surveillances.
