BOMBING MATTERS
This is the case involving the bombing of the Sixteenth Street
Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama, in which four Negro children
attending Sunday School were killed. At the time of this bombing the
“Su Xlux lan, the National States Rights Party, and other racist sroups
were suspected of committing acts oi violence against Negroes in the
Birmingham area. The more violent members of these groups were
considered as suspects, The investigation of this matter is continuing
and reports will be furnished to you as they are received.
Sei forth below is a tabulation of the microphone surveillances
which were used during this investigation:
1. A microphone was installed at the Marott Hotel,
Indianapolis, Indiana, October 18, 1963, and was discontinued
October 20, 1963, with no trespass. A nation-wide meeting of extremist
groups, including the National States Rights Party, was held at the
Marott Hotel during this time.
