At fequest of William Baxley, Attorney General of Alabana, after appropriate contact with the Department, we furnished certain results of our investigation to him, Apparently = based on his review of that information, Baxley requested “to interview 23 Agents who participated in instant investigatior in Birmingham in 1963-64, By letter 8/31/76, Baxley was advised the Director would authorize interview of those Agents {12} who are presently on active duty if interviews were ¢onducted in Birmingham with Birmingham Office representatives faniliar with the'case in attendance to insure that no confidential matters were discussed. Baxley subsequently it m__requested addresses of those Agents who are no longer on Dep. AD ctive duty. One of those Agents is deceased. By airtel Asst, Dir 10/6/76, the last known addresses of nine of the former Agents were furnished to Birmingham for transmittal to Baxley; ._one address was inadvertently omitted.
