SUMMARY
As was noted in referenced airtel, Sunday, 9/15/68,:
was the five-year anniversary of this bombing. In connection
with this anniversary, a large demonstration was held
starting at the 16th Street Baptist Church and proceeding
through the downtown streets of Birmingham to the Birming’
City Hall where several speakers were heard; including Mr.
- CHRIS McNAIR, father of one of the four girls killed in this
bombing. Approximately 700 Negroes mixed with several white
church leaders participated in this march. It was a quiet
and peaceful demonstration with few outside observers and no
Vai violence or harassment.
Investigation continuing.
