wiretappers might be, Wallace
said “We know the Justice De-
partment spends $20 million a
year on wire-tapping equip-
ment.”
WALLACE, WHO said the
state is not tapping telephones,
declared, “We believe people
ought to have the right of pri-
vacy protected.”
Wallace’s speech climaxed
the three-day ‘Center Point
Days” trade promotion spon- |
sored by Center Point Cham-
ber of Commerce.
He crowned the winner of the
“Miss Center Point” title, Pam
Torek, 14, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs, H. T. Torck. Winner of
second place in the contest was

placed third.
Wallace told the enthusiastic
gathering, ‘There will be a jun-
jor college in your area by Sep-
tember of next year.”
He said he will attempt to
iget the special session of the
{Legislature to appropriate more
funds for the junior college so

size as originally planned.
Wallace said the larger school
