FD-202 (Fev. 1-25-60) QO FEDERAL BUREAU 9F INVES: san De Date —_ 9/19/63 A crime scene search was conducted at the Alabaster Lime Company, Verlie, Alabama, in connection with the breaking and entering of a power house located on a rock road on the Western edge’ of the lime company, and the attempted breaking and entering of a second power house located approximately one hundred yards to the South of the first mentioned power house on the same lot. The first power house did not have a padlock as should have been the case, Soil samples from a pallet and from the floor of the interior of this power house were obtained for possible future comparison. An examination of the second power house revealed tool marks on the hasp portion, and the aglinder block portion of the padlock to the door of this second power house. These tank marks appear to be similar to those that would be made with some type of sawing instrument such asia hacksaw. This padlock is being retained for possible future spectographic comparison examination. At a point approximately twenty feet, Southwest, of the secomt power hause on the extension of the rock road running past, a ballpoint pen, black with silver trim, bearing the lettering Southern Screw Company, Statesville, North Carolina, was found. Fingerprint: examination of the doors to both power houses, the remaining padlock,-and the men did — not develop any latents of valué. Dirt samples from the area immediately adjacent to the door of the second power house were obtained for possible future, comparison examination. Photographs of the two buildings were obtained.
