These cards were obtained by the United States Bureau of Investigation and subsitted to the different service branches for the purpose of identifying the applicants, and tus ob- taining fingerprint records which could be compared with the Jee resorda of the Identification Division of the Dalted ‘tea Bureau of Investigation, Notwithstanding the fact thet the applicants, thesselves, furnished the information showm on Whe earde, it was impoasible for the sergice tranches te identity as weterans sone of these individuals, Of these cards, 4723 fingerprints were obtained and eam pareé with the records in the Identification Piviaion of the Gaited Etates Bureau of Investigation.
